London, United Kingdom
I have undertaken family law work since I qualified as a solicitor in 1991. I have experience in all aspects of family law focussing on divorce and related financial claims. I have had a diverse career working in and around the Cambridgeshire area, having spent 8 years working for a Cambridge firm before returning to work in Peterborough. My main forte is dealing with high net worth cases with particular emphasis on cases where the matrimonial assets consist of businesses and trust funds. In my career I have dealt with all aspects of child law to include public law (having been on the Children Panel for 5 years) and private law. I have dealt with cases of international child abduction and adoption cases both in the UK and from abroad.
I have extensive Court experience and deal with a large proportion of my own advocacy.
I am trained as a mediator and a member of Resolution.
My approach to my clients and work is measured and pragmatic. I am mindful that divorce and separation is and can be a very stressful and emotional time for clients. I see my role as guiding and supporting my clients through the legal process to get the best possible outcome for them. My aim is to achieve this through negotiation and settlement and I am robust in my advice on the merits of a case. In the events that cases cannot settle and Court proceedings are necessary I understand the importance of litigating efficiently and effectively again with the aim in sight of always trying to settle a case where possible.
Solicitor
I have worked in family law for 25 years. I am well versed in the complexities of this area of law where emotions run high. My years of experience allow me to see matters in the round and my objectivity and legal knowledge is there as an anchor for clients who find themselves understandably all at sea whilst they try to navigate this difficult process.
