Summary

Practice Areas:

  • Commercial Property
Berg

I have spent most of my twenty years+ of qualification working for two of the top international law firms, from newly qualified solicitor to partner and head of commercial property. I have represented a wide variety of clients including pension funds, lending institutions, investors, local authorities, airports, government agencies and energy providers on a wide variety of work types including:

  • Real estate investment and portfolio work, such as the acquisition and disposal of standing investments;
  • Pre-development work including site assembly, planning, grant and acquisition of easements, funding;
  • Acting for various Banks and other lending institutions in connection with the provision of finance for investors and developers;
  • Acting for Insolvency Practitioners appointed by the Banks and Lending Institutions to deal with distressed property assets and providing strategic advice to Banks, Lending Institutions and Insolvency Practitioners in relation to the management and disposal of distressed property portfolios
  • Property management including the grant and acquisition of leases and landlord and tenant issues;
  • Corporate support;
  • Local authority transactions including purchase, sales, highway closures and highway improvements, compulsory purchase transactions, leases, regeneration, environmental enhancement schemes and site assembly;
  • Acquisition and disposal of contaminated land sites;
  • Acquisitions and disposals at auction;
  • Acquisition of power stations;
  • Providing strategic advice to the public and private sector concerning distressed developments and insolvent investments and resolving disputes between the parties

I am known for being thorough, pragmatic and commercial and take the approach that there’s always a solution to a problem. The skill is to ensure that the solution is appropriate for the individual client, without exposing them to unnecessary risk.

I am a CEDR accredited commercial mediator and Advanced Negotiator and as such, believe that many disputes can be resolved without the need to go to court, hence saving cllients’ money, time and emotion.

Being a qualified business coach helps me to flush out and understand clients’ business objectives and drivers so that our team can work more effectively with clients, as trusted members of their team rather than be seen as external advisers.
